Iceland: Living with the elements
When you think of Iceland, you might picture gigantic waterfalls, endless glaciers, or fiery volcanoes. But the true magic of this land reveals itself slowly — in its quiet moments, its vast landscapes, and in the people who have learned to live side by side with its raw forces. This photobook invites you on a journey across Iceland, where powerful landscapes meet those who call them home. Through personal stories and breathtaking images of nature, Iceland: Living with the elements reveals a deep, human connection to nature’s fierce beauty — a reminder to living not against the elements, but with them.

Laura Kopold was fascinated by two things from an early age: photography and Iceland. At the age of 23, she fulfilled a childhood dream by spending several months on the island. There, she found not only an impressive landscape, but also inspiring personalities. Fascinated by the special way in which these people are closely connected to nature, she portrays them and gives them a decisive role in her photo book. Her photographs visualise the connection between humans and nature, providing an authentic insight into living with the elements.
